 The Bryce Canyon half marathon starts on the Paunsaugunt Plateau and heads north briefly. Turning east onto Hwy 12 with the spectacular Powell Point in front of you, watch the sun rise over the horizon. The route immediately descends through the red rock of Bryce Canyon National Park. Canyons and hoodoos mark the scenery as the trail descends. About five miles into the half marathon the trail crosses the Tropic ditch where the early pioneers first brought water into the Town of Tropic. As the half marathon trail undulates along through pastures and ranches it descends into the Town of Tropic with views of the pink cliffs of Bryce Canyon on your right. The route continues through ever changing layers of geologic wonder into the Town of Cannonville. Red and white striated rock surround the finish line creating an awe inspiring end to a very fast half marathon. |
